Building and Grounds – The Building and Grounds committee is responsible for the stewardship of all the physical properties (interior and exterior) of FPC as well as setting the guidelines for use of the church and its facilities.
Meeting time: Third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
Christian Education Committee - works together to coordinate the educational ministry of the church. Coordination of events ranging from the wee little ones of the nursery all the way to the sage adults in adult forum is the focus of this group. BLAST( grades K-8), Confirmation (grades 9-10), Adult Forum, TNT (mid-high youth group), the high school youth group, children's music, and vacation bible school are some of the many programs this committee oversees.
Meeting time: currently meet on the 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Deacons – The Deacons of First Presbyterian Church, with the support of our two pastors and four parish nurses, seek to provide pastoral care to the members and friends of FPC. In addition, the Deacons host the coffee hour known as Breads and Brews and coordinate the Usher/Greeter ministry on Sunday mornings. Each year on the Sunday before Lent begins, the Deacons host the all church celebration known as Everybody’s Birthday Party. In the past years they have also coordinated a special Silent Auction with
Everybody’s Birthday Party. Funds raised in the Silent Auction have supported additional mission projects of the church as well as provided for some new items to assist in the church’s everyday ministry. The Deacons are one of two elected boards of the church. The commitment is to a three-year term. There are currently 18 Deacons. The Deacons meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Membership Committee - The Membership Committee welcomes visitors to our church and oversees fellowship opportunities for the congregation. Some of their many duties include: care of Friendship Pads in sanctuary; taking mugs to visitors; assigning Befrienders to new members; planning the Pumpkinfest; organizing the Friday Fellowship and the Dinners for Eight; & organizing the pictorial directory.
Meeting time: Usually the second Monday of the month at 4:00p.m.
Outreach Committee - Committee members help plan and participate in local mission activities such as Crop Walk, Mission visits, Mission Dinners, Just Friends Picnic and Christmas Party, Samaritan House Dinners, Peace Conferences, Food Drives to support SOS, allocation of general budget mission dollars to needs at a local level and beyond. Additional projects we hope to include in 2007 are: a weekend mission trip possibly to the Repairers of the Breach Homeless Mission in Milwaukee, donation of cell phones, Shrimp Boil to benefit Back Bay Mission in MS - a mission that works with local fisherman which lost its buildings in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Personnel - During our meeting time all things dealing with the staff of FPC are discussed. We interview and hire for any open positions, conduct yearly reviews of staff members, evaluate and set wages with the help of session, and deal with any staff issues that may arise.
Meeting time: Approximately once a month on Friday morning
Sanctuary Committee – The Sanctuary Committee is an independent group of individuals who work with the head pastor to coordinate the hanging of the banners and liturgical paraments, prepare the elements for communion, help set-up for baptisms, and decorate the sanctuary for the seasons of the church liturgical year. Peace and Justice Task Force - The major tasks of the PJTF are to organize the fall Peace Conference and the FPC display at the Marshfield Cultural Fair in February. The task force also serves as a forum for peace and justice issues that arise within the church and take motions to the Session as needed and presents at the Adult Forum.

Stewardship and Finance – Working with the business manager, Ellen Leick, the Stewardship & Finance Committee is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day finances of FPC’s ministry. In addition, the Stewardship Committee seeks to educate the congregation on our call to be faithful stewards of God’s ministry here at FPC year round and during the annual fall financial campaign. They also are charged with managing the building campaigns as we pay down the debt on our new church facility.
Meeting time: Third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Worship and Music – The Worship and Music Committee working with the pastors, and the music ministry staff (adult choir, bell choir, special music, contemporary music, and children’s music), seek to provide for meaningful worship services each week and on special holidays and occasions for the members of FPC and the larger community. In addition to our Sunday morning worship services, we offer a quarterly healing/anointing service, Taize service, and prayer services for peace.
