Each year, on the Sunday before Lent begins, the Deacons host the all church celebration known as Everybody’s Birthday Party. The committee's mission is to serve the congregation, in such ways that Care for Creation becomes part of the ethos of the life of First Presbyterian, and through modeling, extends to our family and community friends. Members plan Adult Forums, Children's Discovery Times, and bulletin and newsletter green tips to advocate for sustainable practices we might all consider. Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC)- A Congregational Meeting will be called by the Session in the Fall of 2009 for the purpose of electing a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC). The major task of the PNC is to find the next Pastor who is being called by God to be First Presbyterian’s Pastor. The PNC will eventually present that person to the congregation sometime in 2010 for election to an indefinite term of office as the Pastor of FPC. It is conceivable that FPC will have several hundred applicants for the position of Pastor. Around seven people, broadly representative of the congregation, are needed to serve on the Pastor Nominating Committee to evaluate and interact with applicants for the position of Pastor.
